What would be the point of overriding the BTSI(Brake transmission shift interlock)? Im unclear of why you would override this.

In case you need to put the car in neutral while the ignition is off.

or if your brake light switch fails or blow a fuse you can still put it in gear

It is in case the brake swicth fails.

Hey, is that the little cover to the left of the shifter? I pryed that off after I got the car and there was nothing there. I just assumed it was for a manual transmission. Am I missing something (no pun intended)?
