vert question
How bad is the wind sound with the top up at say 80, 100, 120 and 140 MPH in the vert? I know it isn't safe in a vert at 140 but its more of an "in case" type thing.. I'm thinking of buying one but dont want to be annoyed out of the car on a 2 hour, 100MPH cruise..

RE: vert question
go for a test drive without the salesperson and find out for yourself! love my vert and was pleasantly surprised when i took one for a test drive with both top up and down. alot smoother and quieter than you would think! well good luck with your choice but my vote goes for a vert!!

I was in the passenger seat of my vert doing 135 with the top up. I can't tell you if the top was noisy or not b/c....well, I couldn't hear anything above the screaming.

Oh man, I hope Jebus himself was driving, otherwise there is more to this story that needs to be told.

With that said expect to hear more exhaust noise than wind noise. I drove 11 hrs from NJ to SC with the top both up and down, and hit 120 at a few points... with the top up, the car is oddly quiet (exhaust aside). Much better than verts of yester-year

RE: vert question
With the top up-- wind noise at 70 mph is about the same as at 120. Between the radio and the exhaust note, you likely won't notice much.
With the top down -- wind noise stays fairly constant between 80 and 120. Above 120, you get noticeably more wind buffeting in the front seats, evenwith the windows up.
I did a Vegas run a few months ago and cruised for hours around 120 with the top up and down (and actually preferred having the top down and windows up).

RE: vert question
I'll add that front seat occupants are very well protected from the wind with the top down, but anyone in the back seat will get hammered on by the wind at highway speeds (and beyond the posted limit).
