Default Check Engine Light

Okay so here is the deal. I am getting a check engine light and periodically a check gas cap light. I connected my xCal2 to determine the codes. However, it continuously states something about unable to find the code or code errors. Anyone have an idea?

First thing I'd do is swing by Autozone and have them try thier codereader to rule out if it's the Xcal2 having issues

+1 ^^^^^

hey cryptic, has the car been running perfectly since
the dyno tune and has this CEL issue just come up
recently?

you could always try the FRPP tune (temporarily if need
be), as a last resort to see if the CEL is tune related.

I will try the autozone thing tomorrow.

Hammeron, the car was not running perfectly after the tune. But I do not think it had much to do with the tune........

ok.....it could be that your gas filler cap has
a problem. it's possible that it's not sealing well
and this could account for the occasional gas
cap indication. this cap situation isprobably
responsible, for theservice engine soon light coming
on as well......

if i were a bettin' man, id say your whole problem is
with the gas cap.

good luck and let us know how this turns out

I don't know if they have this in your area but the inspection places here have a gas cap tester so if they have that in your area you could get the cap tested

So nothing from another tester either..hmm. Well, again, if it were me, I'd next try unplugging the battery for a while to reset, and/or maybe reload the tune. Then see if it still happens.
