I've heard really good things about the Tom Tom ONE. I'm a Garmin fan, but they're usually a little pricey. Here's a decent review site:

I don't have one (I'm going to get the Kenwood DNX-7100 instead), but from what I've read, any nav unit that uses the navteq maps usually work well.

Also, make sure you get one with text-to-speech capability, unless you want to be annoyed. The units that don't have text-to-speech cannot say street names, and they just tell you something like "turn right in 100 yards" instead of "turn right on main street." Based on experience with friends' units, that is annoying.

I went with the DDX6019 and the NAv package. You'll absolutely love it! Only complaint is there's no option for "most economical route". Your choice is "shortest" or "fastest".

I have Garmin and love it. It comes with Bluetooth and gives you route options plus with traffic alert, it will tell you if there is accidents or delays on your route and give you the option to avoid them.

The DDX6019 definitely looks like a nice unit, but the DNX-7100 seems like the next evolutionary step for Kenwood. It's an all-in-one unit, plus it has a built-in 2.0 USB port so I can hook up a portable USB 2.0 hard drive and have gigs of music at my disposal. Plus, I don't have to worry about a hideaway unit for the nav. And you can update the nav with the included SD card.

Btw, are you (passenger) able to enter a new navigation route, while driving, with your unit via some sort of work around?

**That's my only question, don't want to hijack the thread anymore than I already have lol**
