brace yourselves...
i'm trying to learn as much as i can, but to be totally honest, what i know about automotive technology can fit in a thimble. that being said, the next step for me in my neverending journey to mod is suspension. money is tight, so i'm wondering if it's a decent first step to buy a rear sway bar and a strut tower brace? i'll move on to the more complicated stuff like lca's, the panhard bar and the springs in the near future, but until then, is ok advisable to simply make those two purchases?
Thanks for the warniing. Agreed. The strut tower brace, what we used to call a shock tower brace isn't needed. We are a lot stiffer than the original stangs and don't flex as much. I put one on my 67 and had to jack the thing up from the center of the engine and let the thing "hang" there for 2 days to get the dimensions back so the thing would bolt on. It had sagged over an inch in 35 years. Gravity being gravity, if you are thinking 35 years into the future, you might get one, otherwise, don't waste your cash.
well, thanks for the warning about the strut tower brace. i'm driving an 07 gt, btw. so, maybe i'll just wait until i get the whole suspension taken care of (meaning springs, lca's, panhard) before getting the rear sway bar...
