Default Roush 427R

I was looking at Roush's page, the 427R is a pretty sweet package. When I was getting my hood fixed at Wayne Akers I saw several of these rides and they were all priced under $30k (most were around $27K). I thought the base GT was this price, I'm not sure bc I bought mine used.?????

I seen the first 427r auto today at the track. Guy from hot rod mag had it there doing a weekend test on it. Very unimpressed(13.2 was his best that I sawoutof the 5-6 passes he made while I was there)and said the list price was 51k.

Why would they put a base GT sticker on a 427R? Oh, I get it! They want you to ask about the car then they can get an annoying salesmen come out and try to talk you into buying it.

I drove a 427 when I was looking for a new mustang and was very unimpressed. Not worth the money in my mind.

all the cars are done this way, becuase they all start out as ford gt's,so they have the ford sticker, then they have the roush add on sticker that makes it jump way high.the roush sticker has all the add on parts.whats funny is they dont give you a credit for all the parts they take off, lol, but you still pay the ford sticker price on top of the roush price.

In fairness to the dealer, they don't get credit for the take-offs either. Ford invoices the dealer for whatever the car had when it left the factory. Roush is the one making the extra money by selling the take-off parts.

well, considering you're getting what is pretty much a whole new car, with labor included, then it's going to cost about as much as a whole car!
I wonder why 427 HP wasn't impressive?
Were you looking at a clone?

I fell for it too. I went to the dealership with my check book all ready to get the stage 3 thinking it's 29k (at that time i didn't know ish about how much they really run for). When I got to the dealership and the guy said it was 42 grand I was like WTF is your problem and pointed at the sticker on the passenger door. He showed me the one on the windshield with the list of add-ons and it did show 42 grand as the price. The price you saw was for the plain GT without Roush add-ons. Only thing that pisses me off is that when they do list those add-ons it seems like they forget that they keep the old parts. For example they will charge you 1000 for roush bumper and never mention that the stock GT bumper is 400 so instead of charging you the difference, the charge the whole amount... WHY???
