Default dtc code p0340 help please

I was driving around today and the engine light came on. Not flashing, just on. I noticed nothing different in how the car drives or handles, but it still was on. I plugged in my xcal and got the code p0340. I have looked around and am not really sure what it means or how to fix it.

If anyone could tell me what it means and possible how to fix it, I would be greatly appreciative. Hopefully I won't have to make the trip to the dealer. [:'(]

Thanks.

cam shaft position sensor...this has been linked to the alternator having a bad diode..here is the tsb on it...all I did with mine is cleared the trouble code and it has returned once in 3 months....if you are at all nervous..bring to dealer....good luck...hope this helps

**update**

I put my tune back to stock, I have a Brenspeed tune. I drove stock for a while, no code. I put the tune back in, drove about 45 min with no a/c, windows down, no code. I went inside for a while and it got hot. Went outside, started the car, no code. As soon as I turned on the a/c, theres the p0340 again. I went to advance auto, they tested the battery and the alternaor, neither which were bad.

Do you think it's the tune? Should I call Brenspeed and get a new tune?

I am goint to run my car on stock for a day or two, with and without a/c, and see what happens. If the code only comes on when the tune is in, that has to be the problem, yes? [&:]

I actually have a thread about this same code. I threw mine about 2 weeks ago. Sounds like exactly what happened to me...

I was also tuned by Brenspeed so I returned my car to stock along with the stock air box and drove it around for a week or so, no code. I just reloaded Brents tune yesterday and put my CAI back on and I havent thrown a code yet, so well see what happens.

Ive had his tune for close to a year now and never had any problems before now. Not sure if its related to the AC though, because I blast mine all the time since its usually in the high 90s here. Just wondering, but are you auto or manual? I would assume the tunes for each are different, so maybe it has something to do with that?
