Default Seat damage

I just took delivery on a 2008 GT/CS and noticed a nic/scratch on the driver seat...

I am going to call the dealer tomorrow, do you think they will replace the seat?

It is a defect. They may try to patch it. Make sure they order you a new seat.

They offered to "repair" it if they can. The Dealer said he has a guy that comes in and repairs things like this. Should I demand a new seat? Will a "Patch/Repair" be a quick fix and open up later?

Ford replaced my upper seat cover b/c it started getting strange bumps on the upper back part.

It was more noticable then that but heres the issue. The dealer is not wanting to pay for it, and it's not a warranty issue.

But trust me, your better off trying the fix, you won't be happy when you get the new cover..all wrinkley and not as tight of a fit...

I persoanlly would let it go and go with the fix...worst case you don't like it and then get a new one.

I have the same exact problem in my 07 GT that I picked up 2 weeks ago. They told me I could have the cover replaced, but suggested I just have the tear fixed, which is what I am going to do. I also had an 2006 V6 which the upperback support broke they pulled the cover off to replace itand the seat never looked the same again.

That is exactly what I am afraid of...it never being the same. I would hate for them to pull the seat out, replace it and have it being all messed up or crooked. They saidif it cant be patched, they would replace it. I was just wondering ifI would be better off witha patch if they could.[/align]

The tear is my seat is in the same exact spot and the same size. The dealership told me by patching I would never even know it was there.I have to wait for the leather repair "specialist" who only comes every couple weeks. I'll post a pic when I getchance.
