the only problem is that im afraid a CAI/Tune is going to void my warranty so i wanted to avoid getting those until my warranty is up. is it wrong to install headers before getting my CAI/tune?

if you are worried about the warranty then don t do anything to it....the headers wont be worth **** without a tune and a CAI and even then you arent going to get much out of them.....and if you have the extended warranty you are screwed cause thats like 7 freaking years and then who gives a **** about what you do to the car if you still even have it.

Not worth it anyway you look at it.
Shorty a waste.
Long tubes...for what?
I want you to think of a garden hose...what happens when you turn it on...water pours out...what happens when you take your finger and make the opening smaller?
It shoots out and goes farther.
Now think about getting a bigger hose but you have the same amount of water coming thru it...falls out....put your finger on it...minimal effect...
Get the idea?
The exhaust is the same...until you have a hell of alot of air going in to the motor there is no need to change the headers...especailly with longtubes...overkill....don't buy into the magazine 15 horse crap...
Put a blower on then longtubes then you'll see 15 horse.
Simple physics.

As far as I know headers will void the warranty as well, atleast a tune/cai can be removed before a dealer trip headers area bitmore permanent. You need to just leave it stock if your that concerned.
A CAI and tune is easily removed for a trip to the dealership, L/Ts not so easy. If you are worried about the warranty then leave it stock for the length of the warranty. [:@]
I have the extended warranty and I have gears, pullys, and CAI/with tune. And I have just had my car serviced with a new speedometer. Know your Dealer.
Of course, just my opinion:
#1 Its probably in your best interests to keep your warranty intact, which means don't put the headers on, or really any other mods that you can't reverse easily.( except for a CAI /tune, for example).
#2 The money you were going to spend to buy and put the headers on, (of course cash I hope) go to your bank and put it towards opening up a CD!
All the money "invested" in LT's versus the small gain in power is not worth it to me...
