Default Backfiring, why?

Ok so i installed some JBA axlebacks a few weeks ago and was getting a rattle so i took them off and reinstalled them, fixing the rattle sound. Well now when i rev it up i get a crackling back fire. sounds like its the drivers side only. The first time they were installed it did not backfire when you revved it. My wife said she heard it backfire once while she was driving but thats it. What could be causing this?

Find it difficult to believe that changing mufflers would cause a backfire unless there is some type of blockage.

if all you changed were the mufflers im pretty sure it isnt backfiring. Most likely just crackling, which is normal.

So wait. You didn't hear it but wifey did. <Austin powers GoldMember motion with hand> Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm </ Austin Powers GoldMember motion with hand>

My wife thinks the whine from my Whipple is 'wrong' [&:]

Does your wife know the difference between a Manly exhaust Crackle and a backfire??
One thing is for sure, changing the cat backs isn't going to start the car on a Backfiring spree.
