Default CB Radio

Ok, so i know that theres at least one person in here with CB radio, and im interested in putting it in my car also, so i was looking for ideas on where to mount it, and anything special i might need to hook it up. Can anyone suggest anything for me? Thanks in advance.

if you don't plan on having an external
antenna, then the range is going to be
very very short. if you just want to be able
to talk with someone in another vehicle, the
motorola 2 way radios, would be another
possible solution....

I ran a power cord directly from the battery to a spot under the dash on the drivers side. Ran my antenna cable under the rocker, back seat, and out on top of the trunk. It looks O.K. but I'm sure there's better ways of doing it, I just havn't spent that much time on it.

I think I would just go with one of those antenna's that mount to the back window, with the cord that passes current to it through the inside. It might not do as good as wired antenna's, but it will surely look better and be alot cleaner

Get a fuse tap, for power from your fuse box.
Find the smallest name brand radio you can get.(small interior foot print)
Run a magnetic antanae from the trunk to a stealth location inside.
Have your new radio tune matched to the antanae by a CB shop.

That is what I would do, Good Luck!!

P.S. Some company makes a unit that is installed behind the dash, and all the controls are in the mike handle. That is how I would go.

Here it is.

Thru-the-glass antennas are great and leave no holes.
Or a 102" whip mounted on the rear fender for the
hardcore CBers.

If you go on longs trips and speed it comes in real handy. The truckers on the CB will tell you where the cops are sitting ten minutes before you ever get to them.
