Default 4.10 Whine Problem!!!

I went to my dealer to install a 4.10 friday and the best guy there did it!!! We went togheter to a test drive because I was afraid about the whine of people on the board here. So they were no whine at all and the car was working very well and I loved my new gear. But last night, I was cruising around the city and my gear started to whistle around 60 mph in fifth gear. The only problem is if I'm downshifting I getno noise at all in all four gear. It only whine in fifht gear between 2300 and 2800 RPM and there is my cruising speed. So in a long run I will get headache!!! What can I do to correct this thing????? Is it really a whine problem???? Is it to late to get it fixed??? Help me

take it back and have them do it right.. your only going to hear the whine on the highway... at cruising speeds.. you wont hear it in lower gears really.

needs to be fixed. you might also want to consider using a synthetic transmission fluid. your tranny is now under additional stress and the fluid may burn up.

The Big Problem here, it's because I bought my gear from another company they only did the installation! So I'm kinda ****'up. They will not install me a new one. Are they gonna be to fix the one I had in right now.

I have said this a millon times. My stock gear whinned a little bit and so do my 4:10s'. Not loud but a tiny bit. I'm happy and I advise you to be the same.

Are you sure the whine is coming from the rear end? If it whines between 2300 and 2800 rpm in fifth gear, it would do it in that rpm range in every gear. As far as the rear gear is concerned it doesn`t know one gear from the other. All it knows is rpm.

That you are only hearing the whine in 5th gear makes me think the problem may be in your tranny. Also make sure the noise is not coming from the two piece drive shaft. It can be responsible for a lot of drivetrain noise.
