Default SCT X3 Problems

I'm having some trouble with my X3. I tried multiple times to load the 93 Race AEM tune my dealer (bamachips.com) preloaded for me, and i even tried the battery disconnect trick. It wont seem to catch. Also when I would go into the settings of the tune, everything was set to default ( i.e. "0", "stock" etc) Is this how it appears? Do I need to set things like axle ratio, rev limiter, myself? I thought that was the basis of having a customtune preloaded.
Also now it freezes whenever I try to open a tune file, and earlier it said I was out of memory, but I'm not sure why it would need more memory? I cant find any available software for the X3 either. Everything I do pretty much results in it freezing.[/align]

You shouldnt have to change any of the settings on a custom tune.

when I went to load the tune for the first time I hit change settings by accident and all the values were the stock settings. Would it normally display the preset settings of the custom tune? I'm gettin really frustrated, I can't do anything at all with it. I almost wish I could just reset it and do some settings myself until I just get a dyno or something. Spend $400 and wait 10 days and this is what I get!

As stated, the tunes are setup for the mods you informed Doug about. You should not change anything, doing so can lead to problems. It sounds like the handheld might not be working correctly.

What do you mean it freezes when trying to open a tune file?

Go to tacobills write up and follow it. I think the X3 works the same as the XCal2....

I select something, like custom, it makes the beep noise, and the screen doesnt change, and then it stops responding completely, but the backlight remains on. Either all the memory is causing a problem for some reason it just froze up and doesnt like me. I'm not sure, but I hope there's a way to reset it and reload the tunes

You can reset it with the software and not lose the tunes....i would have doug email you your tunes then competely wipe it clean....if that doesnt work then something with the tuner itself is not correct and you will need to have it replaced

Thsat is the manual....i would check out SCT forums and see if they can help you with the software....you might be able to use the same software as the Xcal2 used.

Have you called Doug? That might be a good place to start.
