Default Getting ready for the bottle

Ok...So I'm going to attempt to put a zex dry kit in without voiding my warrenty. Since you have to tap into the throttle body, I was going to buy an aftermarket one (bbk 70mm mabey?) and then if I need warrenty work just switch out the throttle body and pull the lines.

Anyone have any experiance with those throttle bodys?

I figure mabey I could squeeze a few more horses out of that one.

i have the zex wet kit, not installed yet (Saturday hopefuly) and yes it does just tap into the intake tube and seeing as i have the C&L street intake it should make it a bit easyer to switch if i ever need to take it back to the dealership because i will have to put the stock intake back on. all in all it looks like a very easy install.

What type of kit do you have?

If it is the Zex wet kit it should tap into the intake not the throttle body (mine is). I believe if you have an aftermarket CAI you should be fine as you would need to go back to stock to take it in (there by removing the nozzle).

I'm not completely sure on the dry setups for the 6cyl stangs, but all the gt systems are wet. You won't tap into the throttle body, you have to tap into the air intake track. You can not tap directly into the throttle body, the nozzle needs to be about 6-12" from the throttle body to allow for proper aeration of the nitrous(so it disperses) into the intake, and evenly into the cylinders.

The zex kit comes with a "fmu" that must be mounted within 18" from the nozzle location, this contains the nitrous & fuel solenoids. I mounted mine directly on the left side strut tower(you really don't have much space for anywhere else). So you need to realize that there will be extra holes there to consider.

You will also have holes in the trunk from the bottle mounts.

Just remember this incase your motor comes apart, as a vehicle inspector will more than likely come in from Ford, and will thuroughly inspect the vehicle, and if any signs of forced induction are found, warranty will be voided, you will be out of a motor. These inspectors are usually very strict, and he suspects the extra holes in the trunk, be prepared for a motor. not trying to turn you away from it, because it is cheap fun---just saying be prepared to pay to play.

Aftermarket throttle bodys are bad news, steer clear. You shouldnt be going in through that anyways, tap the intake. ^ Good advice there.
