My girlfriend goes to University of Maryland, College Park. Last night the UMD Terps football team was playing their rival the West Virginia University Mountaineers in a nationally televised football game. Since one of my good friends plays for WVU, i asked my girlfriend to get me a ticket. Well last night upon arriving in college park, i parked next to her apartment building in the back of an office buildings parking lot. Its a nice place, it always has room, and i can still see it from her bedroom window to check on my car. Well i locked my car, and went to the game. Upon returning from the game, i look to where my car was parked, and there is a bright red GT500 sitting where my black 06 V6 was earlier that night. Once i realized that my car was not red, and definitely not a GT500, i called police to report it stolen. Luckily another student remembered seeing alot of cars get towed out of the parking lot, and informed me. So i call the towing company, they have my car, and i have totake a cabinto downton DC at 2 in the morning, pay 100 dollars to get my car back, and then drive back to baltimore, go to bed at 4 and be at work at 7. I understand it was private property, but its a thursday night at 7, a huge parking lot, and an empty office building, was it really necessary to tow my car? Coincidentally theres a ford dealership right across the street with two GT500's for about 40k's each right across the street. Just thought id share that experience with all of you.

I feel for you on the towing and I would be pissed about that.

However looking at it from the building owners perspective. They probably don't want people parking there for liability reasons. People tailgating, hanging out and something happens on the property equals potential lawsuit against the owner. Dumb but true.

$40K for a GT500. I think that's reasonable....

 

Next time....park across the street at the Ford Dealer. Your car would blend in nicely.

You know ive been thinking more and more about parking on the Ford dealerships lot, it'd be alot safer there than on the campus lots. And i didnt really almost get a GT500, jus got quite a suprise when i came out and saw one in the exact spot where my car had been. Also i completely understand the building owners perspective, just wish he didnt think about that.

yea thats it exactly, the view, my gf lives on the 6th floor, and i see that red GT500 in the parking lot all the time too, never met who owns it though, but i own a black v6 with black rims and dark tints thats in that same parkin lot a couple times a week, do you live in the view?
