Emissions System light popped on today? I will take it in but what up? I now have 4000 miles on & already an issue.

B4 i take it in I want to come to my trusty new community. Engine guys, any thoughts? The manual say that it could be from low fuel quality or water in the fuel? Also if gas cap is loose, so I checked that first. I will not be taking it in over the weekend. Would the first step be filling up at another gas station& seeing if the light goes off.

many parts stores will scan your vehicle for free. It doesn't exactly pinpoint the problem but it ballparks it anyway...like they could pull a small evap leak code which would most likely be you pumping gas with the car running or ignition on, or aloose gas cap. Doesn't take but a minute either. Beats leaving the vehicle at the damn ford dealer all day.
