Personally I think nothing beats the Roush louvers. I love mine. They have an adhesive that is placed on either side of the quarter window. Both adhesives have screws and you put the louvers up to the adhesive and screw them in. They don't touch the glass at all and you can see through the slots.

There are several others as well that are fitted into the slot around the glass and even some that replace the glass entirely, but my understanding is that these Silverhorse louvers aren't quite the quality glass that come with your car... it's more of a blurry type faux glass or something.
Do the brackets where the screws go extend over the paint
and if so could the tips of the screws damage the paint if they
pressed up against it or rubbed?
The adhesives are on the paint... nothing sticks to the glass. But no, the screws can't go deep enough to touch the paint. They are blocked because the socket has a backing that blocks them from getting to the paint.

Y'know, I wonder if these are the base louvers for the ones I have:

$69.95...
How much would enough paint to cover BOTH sides cost?

So I really like the look of the Roush louvers but a little worried about the adhesive on the paint. Does it damage the paint? How easy do they go on and off for washing the car? Does water get trapped? Just trying to cover all tha bases before I make the purchase.

Where does the adhesive make contact with the car? Window or paint? Where did you get yours? Were they pre painted?

you dont take them off to clean. you would ruin the adhesive, it goes on and stays on. as for water, they all hold some water but not enouhg to rust from what i have seen with mine, although mine arent roush, and any parts that get covered will probably fade differently over time so if you do take the louvers off in 4 years you might have an outline.
