Default Solid face wheels question

I had a '67 Mustang in college (Lime Green, 289, auto) and put solid face Enke wheels on it which looked pretty nice way back then. In fact I saw it about 10 years after I had sold it and the new owner still had the same wheels on it.

Thinking something similar might be an interesting and different look on the new 'stang, I did some searches for solid face wheels at various on-line stores and couldn't find anything.

My question is: are manufacturers not making them because that look isn't in style or is it because with new cars having disc brakes (vs. the crappy drum brakes on the old '67), the spoked wheels are needed for better cooling?

Just curious....

P.S. If anyone knows where to get solid wheels, please point me to a URL

So the pics of this guy's '71 with the solid wheels made me remember my post that no one responded to so I'm bumping it back up for one more try....

(Thanks Yonco. Nice '71; too bad you're selling.)

I want to say I saw wheels like those in the Jegs catalogue. I noticed them because I used to have some on a car.

Made me have to look. Jegs has some like it. They are Centerline Drag. I did't see them on thier website but they are in the catalogue.

Solid face wheels had a couple problems. #1 they were not structurally very strong as there were no angles in the wheel face, so they don't hold up well toroad driving. #2 Solid face wheels do not allow very good cooling to disc brakes. That is why you usually only see them usedon drag racing wheels. Other than that they did kinda look cool back in the old days.

Centerlines! I knew there was a name I was forgetting (it sucks getting old).

I think I'll pass on the Baby Moons . However, I still think the centerline drag look would be interesting on the new 'stang (if they fit and if they come in at least 17") but...I wouldn't want to compromise brake cooling. Thinking....

Thanks for the replies.
