Default Side Airbags?

Okay - I've got an 05 Vert with the side airbags. This might be a dumb question, but where do they deploy from?

Side of the seat. Look on your drivers side when you get in next time, it has a little Airbag tag.

You are correct my friend! That's why you can't/shouldn't put aftermarket seat covers on verts with side airbags

Yes it has a tag but where does the bag come from. Does it just burst the stiching in the seat? Thats messy.

Yeah it blows out the side of the seat... if you think about it, any accident where the airbags deploy is gonna be messy... I'd rather have lesser injuries than have a clean car when i'm dead.

So true I just think its a strange design. They could just as easily come out of the roof... I know then what would you do with a vert. They could come out of the door and shoot upward. Just my take. It seems like a better, neater solution.

If they had them in the door, they may be damaged in a side collision, and now think about this one......deploy when you slam the door. Whammmm! The seat was the only solution when you are designing a bag for both a coupe and a vert.
