I guess in day to day driving you really don't notice, but the gradual buildup of "stuff" sucked into the filter robs you of power. So today I cleaned it. Wow....It's got that snap back....
It's a kitchen cleaner, not sure i'd use that. You're better off using a mild degreaser. You need to oil the filter after cleaning and don't over do it.(not the stock filter, cai filter)

Did you re-oil it? What kind of oil and how much?
This is a tricky subject on how much oil to use.
And not sure about the fantastic. I will probably
never clean mine as I have a pre-filter and I just
clean that. Pantyhose works wonders as a pre-filter.
The filter will be replaced with a new
one when the time comes (50,000 miles or so).
