Default mgw shifter problem

I just got my mgw shifter in the mail today. I am so excited. I ordered the 3/8th thread, so it would work with my roush shift ball. Go to put the ball on, and it doesn't fit. The threads on the ball are bigger than the threads on the shift stalk. So should I send the mgw stalk back and get the stock 12 mm one? Or should I keep it and try to change my shift ball for a hurst one? I think the 3/8th only works with the hurst *****, I guess I jumped to conclusions that the roush ball would too. Guess I was wrong. Also too this roush ball is pretty small, is that normal or should it be the same size as the hurst ball?

I just called mgw and all I have to do is send the 3/8th thread stalk and they will exchange it for the 12mm one. So my problem is solved.

Congrats ....MGW is the best and very good in responding to calls and emails for anything you have trouble with. I have every chrome part they make and am getting the shifter from them soon.

yeh, I think the stock threads is 12mm, and the roush is made to fit the stock I believe, so if you want to keep the roush ball, get the 12

So what will keep the shifter boot in place? The 12mm shaft doesn't have the grommet for the boot like the 3/8' shaft does.

My roush shift ball came with a hard plastic grommet for the shift boot and a nut that goes on the threads first. I already sent my 3/8th thread stalk back, so I should get the 12mm one in the mail in a few weeks. I like too how I can hook up the stock shifter if I want to. I just wish I ordered it right the first time and did my research. I hate waiting lol.

I still had the stock shifter in the car. I just needed the 12mm shaft to fit my aftermarket roush shift ball. I'm still waiting to install the mgw, just haven't had the time.

I have the MGW shaft with 12mm threads. It came with a grommet.

Also note: I looked for a long time trying to find an aftermarket 12mm shift **** that I liked. There just aren't many out there. Finally found a polished billet one.
