Default Exhaust leak?

So I got under the car today to fix some rattles, and I noticed that there is a bunch of black soot around the connection of my gta axlebacks and the mid pipe. Looks just like the black soot on the tailpipes if it's running rich. Does this mean I have an exhaust leak? If so, would a leak in this area cause pinging or other issues?

the nutin the over-axle pipedidn't go all the way in the slot in the gtas no matter how hard I tried. Any suggestions on how to get that to happen? If I loosen the over-axle pipe at the H pipe and slide it back a bit, is there enough pipe left so it won't leak at the h-pipe?

Just tighten the clamps with an air wrentch. I put em on myself and had midas tighten and align everthing for free, I sliiped the mechanic a big tip for his time.

The passenger side is the trouble.

My thought is to leave the overlap at the H-pipe maximized to avoid a possible exhaust leak into the cabin. Other than a possible change in the sound, a slight leak at the axleback connection seems to present less danger. To get my axlebacks on tight, I had to 1) use an air impact driver and 2) buy a second set of band clamps.

Are you saying you have two clamps on each pipe now or that you replaced the first clamp with a new clamp?

Two clamps on each pipe, the two clamps are right next to each other.

What size clamps did you buy and where did you get them? Thanks.
