Friendly Porsche
Had a good afternoon saturday, was going to go see relatives but some people were there that don't see eye to eye so I left and tokk the long way home.
Heading south on Hwy 165 from Monroe to New Orleans, a driver of a Porsche 911 waved and I waved back. After taking some smaller roads stop at a gas station for drinks and what do know the Porsche is there.
Start talking to the owner he had just purchased it a 2002 blue 911 Carrera with 15,000 miles and was joy riding up from Baton Rouge. Pretty car and one I plan on getting one day. Joked around, he was happy as lark, not your typical Porsche owner!
Though I would like to say the Mustang got more stares, people were taking LONG looks at the Porsche.
Just thought it was cool way to blow a saturday.

Glad to hear - sounds like a cool guy!
Actually all of the porche owners I know personally are great people...guess I am just lucky that way.
I know there are the obnoxious ones out there but I guess I tend to just tune them out.
I just met a several more at an HPDE event (Carrera S, and a couple older 911s) and they were all cool...we joked about how they always gridded up behind me so I would not pass them on the first lap
My buddy just upgraded to a new GT3 (awesome car!) and spanked me at the track a couple weeks ago...I've got video of me passing an S2000 at about 95mph coming out of a turn and then a split second laterhim walking by me like I was parked...SICK!
I figure people who like cars like cars and those are the folks I dig hanging with.

but you gotta give credit where credits due. I love when they are going slow
around town and stuff, it sounds like the car is bogging down...they are built to
go so damn fast, its like they hate to go slow! but i digress
