diablo vs. sct vs. x-cal
ok, what the hell is the difference in these 3 tuners? why is the SCT so damn expensive, the x-cal in the middle, and the diablo dirt cheap? if each offer custom tunes, why would anyone buy anything but the diablo?
i just don't get it. does the sct allow more custom tune options or what? is x-cal as good?
someone please tell me the differences...if you can make just as good of tunes on each, then screw it, i'm going cheap...

Because more tuners support SCT, and not Diablo. The SCT tuning software is easier to use than the Diablo software. They are both great tuners, I think that the Diablo tuner actually lets the enduser do more tuning themselves. The reason why I got a Diablo was because it was so cheap. But I may have to trade for an SCT because Lidio at Alternative Auto only supports SCT products.

Bamachips does Diablo tunes, but not Brenspeed. Both do SCT tunes.
If you look around in the FS/FT sections of a few Mustang forums, you can probably find somebody selling a Diablo Predator for under $200. I got mine for $190shipped and I need the newer U7145 tuner, you'd need the U7140 tuner which has been around for longer.

SCT X3 and the XCal2 are the same tuner basically.....retail price is 379
the live wire is a lot higher at 570 or whatever
The diablo predator is the SCT counterpart with about the same options maybe more...retail price is 399.
If you go to bamachips.com you can see that the JLT pack with either predactor is 549.....the same price.
Neither tuner costs more really and sct and xcal2/x3 are the same when talking in the forums pretty much since few have the livewire.

do you think i'd still feel a big diff if i just bought a tuner and a tune? as in no CAI, just the stock airbox. i am big about remaining stock, but wouldn't mine a tune. what do you guys think - worth it, or no? big gains, or no? i hear i'd gain 20-30whp with a cai/tune, and about 20whp with just the tune.

don't worry about what tuneer to get. Contentrate on WHO is going to tune your car and gat what he recommends...
