msrp 500
I just came back from my local dealership, after getting my brother a 08 stang brochure. They had a nice gt 500 that sold to some local guy for $47k. Thats the fourth one that they have ever recieved. It's a very small dealership, so they don't get many. The cool thing is that they have a policy not to charge over msrp for their cars. That has included all the shelby gt's, and gt 500'sthat they have recieved. They even sold a ford gt, a couple years ago for msrp. I just think it's cool that a dealer would do that. Courtesy ford here in N.C. has been great to work with. When I bought my stang, they added the frpp handling pack, and put the cost into the purchase price. When I got my cervinis hood, they painted it, and blended the fenders for $400. They even used info from these forums to fix my water intrusion leaks, before the tsb on it came out. They just seem to be a departure from the norm these days. I've only heard some locals complain about them before, but my experiences have always been good

RE: msrp 500
it's great to hear stories like this, it may
even be true who knows. i could be wrong,
but my instict tells me these special vehicles
that sold for msrp, were sold to friends and
family.
i leave open the possibility that this is not the case
tho.....

RE: msrp 500
I'm sure some of them were sold to friends/family. I do know that they have also gone to regular people. I belong to the local Mustang club, and four of our members have no special ties to the dealer. 2 gt500's,and 2 shelby gt's.The last shelby gt went unsold for quite some time at $40 k. They even brought it to our Coast Guard day picnic to drum up intrest. It was on their lot for another month, before one of our club members bought it. This small town / farming community, and is much more interested in trucks. It seems that folks here want to have trucks that are lifted to the sky, and not so much Mustangs.
