They are BSM stripes, matte black. I tried using a pair of snips but it was starting to bend. A hacksaw would work.

10in with 2in gap. I paid $100 for the install but it was the first S197 he had done. He said the next time he'll be charging $200-$250.

awesome looking car man, hopefully i can find a decent place to install them, im thinking a local body/paint shop should be able to do it. I guess its just too visual of a thing to attempt yourself and screw up. thanks for having such a good looking car, ive wanted stripes but its been hard with the alloy, but it looks like flat black is a winner.

that's not true actually before I bought my short antenna i choppedmy stock onedown to 16 inches with a pair of cutters and then I popped the ball off the antenna and stuck it on the shortened piece. to get it off I had to use a pair ofpliers(linesmanpliers... hey I'm an electrician they're what I hadsitting around). just takea heavy pair of plierslike thoseand justwrap them around the shaft like you are going to cut itand slide them up and down whacking the bottom of the ball. it shouldpop right off after afew good hits.then you just have to file down the piece of shaft that you are going to stick it on because it'll be a little fatter since the antenna is skinnier at the top and juststick the ballright on.
I did the same thing but I just put the mast in the vise with the ball fairly close to it and used a pair of dikes to gently pry the ball off. After I just put a taper on the end of the antenna and pressed it back on just like before, a little satin black paint and it looks factory.
