Default Hooking up an ipod?

Ok well I am interested in hooking up my ipod into my GT. I was reading a tutorial that used the FRD04-AUX adapter. When they were done they just used the headphone jack on the top. Here is the tutorial:

http://www.jtephoto.com/mustang/idiots_guide/Idiots.htm

What I was wondering is, if I can buy this:

http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=1009

And hook that up so I can have it charge my ipod and play music. The main problem is if I will be able to find the right power source so it only comes on when the car is on. It says in the tutorial that you need to have power to the AUX adapter. Is that the kind of power I need for that? Any input is appreciated, thank you.

The cig lighter sockets (dash and in console)are "hot" all the time. Why do you need them off?

This: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1153337432303

is what I use. I have not had any problems at all with it. It keeps the iPod charged and allows you to play through the Shaker head unit. Its powered through the Shaker and not a Cig plug.

Good luck

So that isimple adapter will work just fine then in my 2005? On their website it doesnt say it works in a mustang but on bestbuys website it says it does. Any difference between 2005 and 2006 mustangs?

If the powerpoint is powering the ipod, when the powerpoint turns off, the ipod automatically stops playing, and sleeps in 5 minutes. When the powerpoint turns on, the ipod turns on, ready to play. It's a convenience if one forgets to stop or turn ofthe ipod.

I just talked to the isimple people about that adapter at bestbuy and they told me not to try it since the unit was wreaking havoc on the can-bus systems.
