Default Scratch in steering wheel

The wife managed to put a pretty good scratch into one of the brushed aluminum steering wheel spokes. Can the individual aluminum spoke covers be replaced? I can't imagine buffing it out as it woulddistort the brushed texture.

Well, heres the good news and the bad.... those pieces are plastic. If the scratch isnt through the silver paint (or dye... what ever it is) than you could probably restore it with some mild rubbing compound. If it is deep and nasty, just go to the parts dept and order the appropriate side for 35 bucks (or so... I think it was 34.00). They pop right off and right on, so its an easy fix. Just make sure the parts guy orders the correct side.

Good to know ... I scratched the bottom one and also scratched my Leather steering wheel ... did it with the seat track when I put my seat back in after my red leather install.

never tried to retro fit to a base model wheel, but you can buy a kit to do it from here.

I really appreciate the info on this. I figured if I asked the dealership they'd tell me to replace the steering wheel for a couple hundred or something. I've got this scratch on my wheel...poor pic from phone, sorry.
