Default Best sounding

I was looking into superchargers and turbochargers b/c i just love the whine it makes. I was wondering which system would create the best sound. Of course power is a big decision too. I was looking at the whipple but i have never heard one in person.

thanks in advance

Kyle

sorry if this is a hard post to understand...im in class with the teacher walking around haha

With an open air filter and if you remove the silencer ring, a turbo can get pretty loud. Whooooooooosh

Ok...i found a place that sells some superchargers. Just wondering what the difference is and which one is the best for a daily driver that just wants a little pep in his car.

Daily driver that just wants a little pep=saleen. KB or whipple would be a step up. If I had the money and wanted, I'd get a whipple.

KBs sound absolutely wicked, but to put one on a car that will be staying in the 450 rwhp range is a waste, IMO.

A roots style supercharger will have the loudest whine, partially because it is spinning faster. A Roushcharger puts out 445 hp (about 380 at the wheels....not to shabby) maintains warranty, and will probably be the loudest. Check out Top Gear Roush vs lotus vids on youtube. Just keep in mind that the Roushcharger is prit near maxed out at that HP, as its only a 1.5L blower. Well designed, reliable (Eaton superchargers have been OEM choice for a long time now) but a bit pricey. If you never plan to go more then 450 crank hp, its not a bad choice. Most on the forum will suggest twin screw, but the roots has its place.
