not sure about that stuff... the owners guide says the engine is not designed to run any high percentage of ethanol fuels. they say it could also damage the cats.

I doubt it would affect the cats but some of the rubber fuel lines under the hood would be dissolved by ethanol
but it does have a higher equivalent octane rating so S/C guys might have some interest but it'll shorten you engine's life

well, rubber hoses could be changed out, im wondering because i dont wanna have to sell my stang when gas doubles price again, if it would only be 1 or 2 g's to switch to ethanol, change all the rubber parts for something more resilient and get a tune. then i think it might be something we should all be looking at for the future of our glorious cars.

if you want but your engine won't last nearly as long on ethanol

ethanol is often used to clean oil off of stuff so it'll hurt your engine

+10000000! stick with good ol gas. its a shame we cant run leaded fuel anymore. aside from the polution aspect, that stuff was great!

I saw a show the other night that said you would have to change the fuel system and some engine internals to run E85. It would cost around 5-6gs

So besides being a total "wtf factor" ethanol is also 5-6k that alot of us dont have extra to install on our engines that will A)Tear up our engines quicker than good ol gas and B)May or may not even become a reliable fuel sorce. Corn gas is still an idea being played with so forgive me if i dont run out and drop 5-6k just so i can have a theoretical fuel supply thats gonna f*ck my engine to high heaven.

No bashing you tho, just trying to point out that ethanol isnt very practical IMO. I do agree with you 10000% that we need to either find another fuel supply or somehow get the gas prices lower.
