Default update on the spec 3+ clutch

Just wanted to say that the spec 3+ super twin clutch is finally breaking in!!!!! It's no longer a real on or off feel. I have put approx 400 miles on it now since the install and it feels like it's almost stock now. I am really glad that it as loosened up a bit, because rush hour was a real pain in the butt. BTW the clutch is rated for 1200RWHP so it's more than enough for any built mustang on here, and it is now DD friendly.

The best part of the new clutch is there is absolutely no slipping. It engages as soon as I dump the clutch, no slipping. I asked the installer to put mystock clutch in the trunk and after looking at it I was surprised to see that the flywheel was a bright blue and the clutch was severely scratched, and that was only with ~1000 blower miles on it.

Why did you go with the stage 3+ and not the stage 2+ witht the power level your at. I am considering the stage 2+ for my car. I am going to be around 450rwhp on Thursday with a crank pulley boost-a-pump and re-tune. Just curious!

No it was the steroids they really helped out...LOL.Seriously though there isactually hardly any difference now between the stock and the 3+. The 3+ clutch was never really hard to depress like the old style clutches were ( you had to be a weight lifter almost), it was more or less the on or off position thatwas difficult for me in rush hour, stop and go traffic.

I went with the 3+ because my next big step is FI's and I want to put down 650RWHP. I always error on the side of caution, meaning I didn't want the 2+ that was rated for 700RWHP and be buying a new clutch in 6 months after I do the FI's and rn a 2.8 pulley on my blower with 16 PSI.

Thnaks for the opinion on the clutch and its feel after breakin. That is the exact same one I want and will get next year with a new flywheel.
