Default Question about tunes

For those of you with CAI's and tunes, have you tried both an 87 tune and a 93 tune? If so, how much difference in performance is there? What about an 89 tune?

I'm a little bit curious to hear the answer to this as well because I just installed my CAI a week or so ago and had 87 in the tank at the time, so that's the tune I'm running with. As soon as I finish this tank, I'll give the 93 gas/tune a shot and am wondering if I should expect to notice a difference. My guess is that there technically is a performance increase, but not so much of one that you feel a big difference.

I have 2 93 octane tunes and one 87 from B A M A and yes thier is a big difference with the 93 tunes. The 87 was a hudge jump over stock and then I went to B@MA 93 torque tune and it was even better. The 87 tune now feels like the car has a stuffy noise Run your tank low and try the 93 tune you will not want to go back. I'm still glad I got my 87 however for the winter when I can't drive fast anyway.

I have an 07 GT with a Steeda CAI and Brenspeed Tunes. I do notice some difference between the 87 and 93 tunes. Between 91 and 93, its hard to tell. Not all gas stations have 93 where im at, many have 92 so i go down to the 91 tune.

I do however notice better gas mileage with the 93 tune. There is even a 1mpg difference between 91 and 93. Im not sure how much money (if any) it saves becasuse im paying more for the gas. Either way, i bought the stang for the go-fast aspect, not the gas mileage.

87 tune doesnt feel much more powerfull, but does feel better when it comes to Throttle response. now the 93 tune imo pulls harder then the 87. ive only had a canned 87 sct tune, and now i have a 93 b a m a dyno tune, and my new tune pulls ALOT harder.

Its hard to compare a sct 87 tune to a 93 Doug dyno tune, hell a Bamachips 87 tune will probably put a 87 canned tune to shame....in reality if you think that an 87 tune is better than a 93 tune then there has to be something wrong with the 93 tune becuase you can get more aggressive with the timing/advance in the 93 over the 87 but a great margain.

I received both tunes from Brenspeed. Started with the 87 then switched to the 93. I noticed a bit better throttle response, higher idol rmp's and better gas mileage. Haven't looked back.

Did the increase in gas mileage pay for the higher price of 93 octane gas? I guess most guys who are running tunes are in it for performance and don't care about gas mileage, but I have a 60 mile round trip to work and spend about $300 a month on gasoline, so it is a concern.

Is higher idle RPM a good thing? And is this normal with a performance tune?

My Steeda and Tune from Brenspeed is due tomorrow. I was TOLD that the biggest difference I'd see is from the stock 87 to the new 87 tune and not as much difference between the new 87 and 93 tunes.

Any more sage advice on this subject? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a CAI and tuner, but I want to know what to expect.

How much performance increase will I see if I use an 87 octane tune with the CAI? What kind of increase in gas mileage, if any?

If I use the 93 tune, how much more performance will I get out of it than an 87 tune? What about gas mileage? Will the increased gas mileage pay for the increased cost of the 93 octane gas, compared to no CAI or tune? I pay about $300 a month for gas, so this is a consideration. I'd feel a lot better about the money invested in a CAI if my monthly gas bill is the same or less than it is now.
