Default VMP Tuning

Just ordered my SCT Live Wire/ C&L Racer Intake Packagefrom Justin at VMP with three custom tunes and was wondering how everybody likes the tunes he does. Seems to be very knowledgeable about this stuff.

Count me as a happy VMP customer. Justin's tunes pull like crazy, and he has a great customer service to boot. I had Brenspeed and Bamachips tunes and I prefer VMP.

I'm very pleased with Justin's 91 California tune. Pulls like a freight train.....I run both his and Brents tunes.....good stuff.....

I've heard nothing but good things, but your question would have been better asked PRIOR to your purchase.

Brenspeed has 1 tune and it is pretty good all around...you can ask for harder shift points if you desire that, but anyone can do that for you.

Bama has a couple different ones.....
1. Torq-great power down low especially, a little less pull up in the higher RPMs than that of the perf (4K+)
2. Perf- Not as much down low but feels nice up top.
3. Race-almost like the 2 above combine....great down low and when you thinkits done and has nothing left......it keeps going up to 6K
the race might be to much for some for a DD.....but alot, including me, use it as the main tune. Third gear pulls incredibly hard on all of his tunes.

VMP also makes a great tune, very similar to brenspeeds. I like all three, Bama, brenspeed and VMP and they all have been great with my car. 3rd gear has been the best with b ama but brenspeeds seems to pull a little more in 2nd sometimes over dougs. And VMP is right there with Brenspeeds tune also.

Bottom line is you should/will be happy with any tunes probably, Hell Tillmanspeed (CR) has a really good tune also. Every car is different to and will react a little different to every tune.

Good Luck!!

Justin at VMP is best known in the sixer realm I think. He did a ton of work on tunes for the 3.8L V6 mustangs, and in the last few years has been putting out great stuff for the 2005+ 4.6L and 4.0L. His customer service is excellent as are his tunes. I cannot speak for the 4.6L folks, but his tune on my 3.8L V6 was great, and in a few months I will be getting a tune for my new 4.0L.

I bought it fromVMP because it was the best package deal with the C&Lintake, SCT Live Wire with right angle cable, Firewire cable a LC-1 Wideband kit. Plus Justin answered the phone when I called his place, Brenspeed didn't, and Bama doesn't even list a phone number on there site( I went with the person who will give me answers to my questions).
Thanks for all of the input guys, I can't wait to get this stuff in the car and try it!!!!!!!!

I will be trying a VMP tune soon. My car seems to stumble at 2100 RPM (especially on highway in 5th gear...it gets "stuck")....and he figures his tune will rid me of that. Though, it could just be lack of torque in combination with wind resistance and my tire size, but I feel it is more complicated then that.

I feel a big difference on the bottom-end compared to the Brenspeed tune, where the VMP tune is much stronger. On the top-end I think it pulls as hard as the Brenspeed tune.
