Driving Tips?

hang on, if i rip my ebrake up, slow, fast, accelerating, anything, nothing happens in terms of lateral movement, i just slowly come to a stop, could there be something wrong with mine?

Two general rules of thumb that will sum all of this up.
1. If your driving in ANY condition that has a detrimental effect on traction, remember that Torque is your enemy. Pretend that there is an egg under your gas pedal and your engine redlines at 2500 rpm's and you should be fine in bad weather.
2. Be realistic about your driving abilities. If you are uncomfortable with doing something, chances are it's because your self preservation instinct is kicking in and saying "Hey dummy.. your in over your head. Back off some." If you have to convince yourself even the littlest bit that you can "pull it off"... chances are that it's your testacles trying to override that self preservation instinct.

Great tips, everybody. I've been waiting for a thread like this.
A few basics that I think have been overlooked...
Wear your seatbelt
Check your blind spot (or get a good pair of bubble mirrors)
Don't drive with just your fogs on in the dark, lol
Unless you absolutely have to, don't slam on the breaks.... you might skid. Press on them firmly and increase the pressure gradually.
Pressing down on the gas peddle on light, moderate turns can help you move more smoothly and fluidly.
I know this has been mentioned, but be very careful not to over correct. A little bit of glass on the road isn't reason to move out of the way as if a car is coming at you head-on (I learned this the hard way in my old Toyota pickup).
Be very alert at all times... watch the road way out ahead of you and way behind you. It's important to know what lies ahead. Doing so will help you deal with obstacles in advance instead of at the last minute when it might be too late.
That's all for now unless I think of more.

Drive drive and drive some more
Muscle memory after you drive enough the car becomes "like" part of your body
if the car is part of you and you analyze whats around you thenyou shouldn't have any trouble
every once in awhile I push myself alittle and have yet to make a mistake
in my 2nd car 85-tbird(took bus to FT lauderdale and drove car back) I fell asleep for about 2-3 minutes without incident it was as though I felt the road vibrations in the car it was like I was the car but when I woke I was ****** scared *****less and since then never let it happen again (I was very very very lucky) this was on I-10 west in FLreturning to TX and since then I can't sleep in a car even if I'm not driving

Reset the gas peddle (throttle) sensor in the fall and drive like grandmom untill spring. Reset again and drive like you stole it till fall.
If i'm not mistaken, it learns from your driving habits. This should theoreticaly work. Can anyone confirm?
I think resetting is turning the key (not engine running) and pressing the peddle to the floor taking 5 seconds to do so. Correct me again if i'm wrong.

Ripping the ebrake will lock the rears while allowing you to still steer with the wheel. Bootleg turn: Push in the clutch, rip the ebrake and turn sharply to one side. As your rear comes into line 180 degrees from where you started let off the ebrake, drop into first and hammer the gas. Lots of fun
