Default Cowl Leak into the cabin.

We had a pretty good rain in the DC area last night. When I got into my car this morning I had an inch of water on the floor on the passenger side.Every time the care moved, more water came out from under the dash. I immediately went to the dealer. They thought it quite odd. After checking it out, they said it was a bad cowl seal. Has anyone heard of this or had this problem? I have an '05 GT, had it or 2.5 years and never had a leak until now.

I had a similar problem with a 10 year old '84 Cavalier (nolaughing please)several year years ago and it turned out to be the drain from beneath the cowl was clogged and so overflowed into the vent intake. Should I look for a cowl drain? Anyone know if there is one, and if so, where it would be?

It is a big problem with the new stang there is a TSB out for it. I had the problem too. Tell your dealer to repair it in accordance with TSB 07-14-6 Good luck.

Default Cowl leak

The guy who had a cowl leek. I had the same problem with my 2005 mustang. There is a drain under the cowl. Mine was clogged with those pesky little helocopters from trees. I took the grommets out from the cowl and put my hand down in there and unclogged the drain and presto no more leeks. Hope this was helpful.

This is a simple fix. Go under hood and remove those clips that hold the cowl in place. Put your hand down in the reservor and find the drain. It is probably clogged.Mine was and I unglogged it and no more leak.
