Default Octane change for 93 tune

I've been running 87 octane in my car since I had Brenspeed upload their three AWESOME tunes to my baby a few months ago, and the main reason I haven't uploaded either the 89 or 93 tunes yet is because I'm not sure exactly when I shouldswitch to a differentgas in the tank. Should I keep running the 87 tune untilmy tank of 87 octane is almost run bone dry and thenputa higher octane gas in before loading a higher tune.....or.....should Iload the higher tune first and then run out the 87 gas....or.....or.....should I fill her up with a higher octane first and then load the higher tune...or WTFFFFFFFF? Does it reallyfreakin' matter either way how you do it? I dunno if this is a stupid question or not (and if so, flame on), but something tells me I'm not the only one runningan 87 tune who's wonderingwhat the best/correct method is to make the transition to the higher octanes. Suggestions?

run 87 bone dry
then fill with 93 (youmight be able to load the 93 now but better safe than sorry)
then fill with 93 again and load the tune

Yes, it matters. You can potentially damage your engine running lower octane than the tune calls for. Stick with your 87 tune and fillup with 93 from as low as you can let the tank go, then do it again to be safe. If you're impatient, do the fillup with 93 once, load the tune and if you don't hear any pinging you're probably ok. But I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Just thought of a faster and safe way

Run near Empty
go to track and Fill with 104 Racing Unleaded
now you should be safe to load the tune

I like to be safe but also have the patience of a 3year old with add. This is what I did ran the 87 really low then put in a half tank of 93 drove all day then with it almost empty again filled up with 93 then loaded the tune at the gas station.

with 104 at even a 50/50 mix with 87 is 95.5oct so filling from near Empty with 104 should make your tank more than 93

Keep running your 87 tune and being on the safe side. Run two full tanks of 93 while running your 87 tune. Run gas real low both times and after you go through two tanks, hey maybe a tank and a half, load the 93 tune.

Thanks to everyone for your input. It seems we have a few varying opinions on how best to do this, but the majority so far suggest running two full tanks of 93 before loading the tune....so that's probably what I'll do. Sounds like good advice. However, just for ***** and giggles, how 'bout we bump this thread and get a few more opinions? Hasanyone tried acompletely different method with success and no problems,Other folks doing pretty much the same things the other guys recommended here, or has anyone, oris the vast majority doing pretty much the same things the other guys recommended here?

Run it down low, then fill up with 93 (or 94 if the sunoco's in your area have it) and you should be fine. The computer has the ability to adjust for variations in fuel quality to some degree and will account for the tiny amount of 87 mixed in with no issues.
