Default 4.10 Installed

I just got the Ford Racing 4:10s put in last week. I've been out of town and was dying to drive it. All can I say is "wow". Best $505 I've spent. Plus the shop that did the install DTS, Drivetrain Specialist sold me on a Ford Racing alluminum diff cover with the drain and fill plugs, hasadded support for the bearing caps. Basically its added support to the rear, plus it looks a heck of lot nicer than stock. Not sure if it was worth it now, but as I build up the car its something that will help out down the road.

So I ran it this weekend "back roads" against my Dad's 06 GT auto. I got him a Xcal2 and a couple tunes for fathers day. Its made that auto pretty dam quick. So twice from a stop, I launched1500rpms. Tried to ease the clutch instead of dumping it, didn't matter. The car just started going sideways. Once I got it under control he was about 1.5 carlengths ahead.

Then we ran again on the highway, normally I would downshift to 3rd at 70. But all I did was leave it in 4th, the gear allowed me to steadily pulled away from him. Very happy with them and 5th isn't useless now. And needless to say, the stock wheels and tires will be gone by next spring. Probably run staggered 18x9 and x10 for new wheels.

Congrats! You got a good deal on that install, mine was about $50 more. I know what you mean about getting traction off the line, its really easy to spin. Question - do you have any gear whine at all? I do, I hope its something that lessons as I get a few more miles on the gears, else I'll have to go back to the shop.

Argonaut, I don't have any gear whine at all. When I spoke to DTS I asked them the biggest difference between brands, Richmond, Motive, Ford Racing, and even they're own brand, basically he said degrees of gear whine, while the Ford Racing has minimal to none. My brother put Motives in his 04 GT, its gets really anoying in his car.
