Supercharger + Shaker
I have the shaker hood, and will be in the market for a supercharger soon, but want to keep the scoop.
What is the BEST supercharger system that i can use with the shaker? Would a turbo be a better route? IM not really biased either way
thanks guys

RE: Supercharger + Shaker
The Shaker attaches to lugs on the stock plenum tract I believe. This, and the added height of the blower has always been the issue for Shaker-owner-wannabes (Like me)..
Maybe the remote mountedVortech blower or as you say, a turbo, would work. Basically, anything which doesn't require the removal or hinderance of the Shaker mounting points.
As for the air trunking of the shaker, you're gonna lose it and just have to use it as Eye Candy only. Not a problem

I think the following link may help..
http://www.brenspeed.com/mustang_200...rchargers.html
It appears they are using it with the Vortech set-up. I also recall someone posting that Saleen will have a kit with a Shaker with their blower. Don't know the details though.

RE: Supercharger + Shaker
No disrepect toward Vortech or Vortech owners, but they're kinda hanging on in there amongst the later twin screw installs. They make good power, no argument there, but IMHO they are a bit old school.
The centrifugal design gives throttle lag and the Plumbing is far more complex than the twin screw setups, more akin to a Turbo setup.
Like I say, they make good power and they have a good following so they can't be all bad. Plus, they DO sound the best (At idle)

RE: Supercharger + Shaker
Vortech makes a very good system. They have been around many years and make good power in the upper RPM range. The Shaker will work well - u need to mod the intake from the Shaker a bit. (there was a thread on it ) A TS S/C makes the power sooner in the RPM band.
I chose the Vortech as IMO it makes a nice around town drive and mad power racing. A great balance IMO. When ur racing your not in the lower revs anyway. @ the strip ur droping the clutch 4000+ RPM anyway and not dropping into the lower revs.
