I was just browsing to see what was available in a 255/50-17....and Discount Tire Direct had these....anyone ever seen them before...they look weird....

I have seen "Z" rated tires like that before. The tread is not "50/50". I have not seen this tire before. But the tread ware is only 260. That is low.

Yeah, but how will it hook up? With a low treadware rating comes softer rubber (usually) which should = better hook-up.
