I am new to the forum. I just purchased a 2007 Mustang GT that has the Shaker 500 Radio system in it. I burned a CD with songs that I purchased and I got a message that said "Bad Disk" when I tried to play it. I then bought audio specific CD's and burned another CD and received the same message. The songs are formatted aswma. Am I doing something wrong or will the Shaker 500 just not play homemade CD's?The owners manual says itdoes play them. I did try the CD's in another vehicle that has a CD player (factory) and it played fine. Everything else works on the radio including the "Line In" for a MP3 player to plug into. I appreciate any help you could offer on this problem. Thank you in advance.

 

My shaker 500 in my 2005 won't play any homemade CDs, and that includes properly formated MP3 CDs. I'm just sucking it up and dealing with it until I can get a AUX imput installed for X-mas.

 

I haven't been having any problems in my '07's Shaker 500 with copied CD's, but I've beenmaking exact duplicatesso I can keep the original at the house.

 

Dont they come with the aux? Mine did...

 

I'd have the dealer take a look at it. My Shaker 500 in my 05 plays burnt CD's just fine. I've tried WAV and MP3 cds and they both work. I use plain data cd's, never tried the special audio cds.

 

I am having problems in my 06. Sometimes it will play the cd just fine. Other times it will say bad disk. And other times it plays songs that are on another cd thats not even in the cd player.

 

No problems at all with MP3's or home burned standard cd's in mine. I'd try some cd's burned on a different computer just in case that is the problem. Otherwise, take it back to the dealer for replacement.

LOL must be, because I don't understand it myself. But I have bought me a AVIC Z1, I wonder if Ford would put it in for me instead of buying a new Shaker?

 

From my experience, my shaker 500 only reads CD-Rs, NOT CD-RWs. I tried both and found this out.
