Default Ventalation Controls

Last Sunday I had the first opportunity to use the heat in my Mustang for the first time. When I turned the control to put heat at the floor I was getting a lot of air at the windshield (defrost) vents. I turned the control **** to defrost and could not tell much if any difference in flow. Is the normal for our cars?

You probably selected the bi-level, which is right above the defrost if I am not mistaken. (Don't use my heater here in hawaii). Bi-level puts air through the defrost vents and the floor vents.

Mine works fine, but I'm almost sure I remember reading about a TSB (service bulletin) about that very problem a while back.

(Well I looked at the TSB's and I can't find anything about it. I guess I was mistaken.)

Mine does the same thing. I'll ask my service manager if its by design.

I was not using the Bi-Level position, using floor only.

Had my Mustang in the shop today for ventalation (heat) situation. Mine is putting a lot of air out the defrost (windshield) when in the heat (floor) mode. Service department checked with Ford and was told this is by design. So to make sure went out to lot and checked the stable and all of them have the same situation.

I guess mine isn't working right then because i live in Iowa and have been using the heater quit a bit lately and comes out on floor normal and defrost is normal also.
