LoL, I looked at 3 350Zs... 1 wouldn't start, 1 made a terrible noise when it did start, and 1 grinded like rocks in a blender into 2nd and 3rd gear. each had less than 10K miles. oh, and then there's the tire/alignment problems i've heard of.

you wanna talk about being not impressed. [&:]

Yeah, I'm having minor problems with my Z aswell, hence another reason why I'm looking for a new car. Maybe it's just the suspension set up in the Z makes it feel faster. I know the stang is faster in the 1/4 mile, but I don't feel it. Even when I down shifted and got on it, it didn't seem to want to get frisky.

I was just expecting it to feel more torquey. Yeah, I know the handling wasn't gonna be close, but I really like just straight line power. Maybe I should try to find someone with a mildy modded GT in my area and see if maybe they'll let me drive it to see what it will feel like. I love my Z but it's to expensive to mod and not enough gains. I know the stang is easier to get gains from, but I'll be driving it stock for a while and want to have fun doing it, and if I can't, I wanna at least know what I got to look foward to.
I sold my 2005 35th Anniversary Z for the Mustang. In stock form, Ford has left a ton of performance on the table. A $500-600 intake and canned tune you can do in your garage in 30 minutes literally transforms these cars. The Mustang is WAY faster than my Z was at this point, and I haven't done hardly anything to it.

You obviously didn't test drive a Black Mustang, 'cause everyone knows, the Black ones are much faster.

LOL, I did test drive a black mustang, because if I buy one, it'll be in black, just like my Z. I don't know, maybe I'll drive one again and see. I'd also really like to drive a GTO to see what the LS2 feels like, and maybe wait on the Camaro,

I felt the same way when I test drove an 08. Its those 3.31 gears. I didnt even want the car but I changed my mind when I drove one with better gears. It didnt seem any faster than my wifes 07 v6 auto accord also Iown an 04 stage2 srt4, so I am used to some descent power.

The 3.55 option for 2008's is like $300 now.[:@]

You're better off buying it with 3.31's then swapping out for 3.73's or 4.10's.

But is the 2 tenths of a second you gain that noticeable in the seat of the pants enough to call the 3.31 a dog? I think not.

Placebo effect. Common.
