Ok, first off I need to convience my dad to take the "rental" stripes (on doors) off of his new mustang. Should i just sneak out there and take them off one night, i have showed him countless photos of the car without them, but he still doesnt listen.

And Second, what color billet cap should i get for the gas tank on a white convertible (black top) i was thinking the black one, i can pull up pictures of both the cap and the car if needed.


Sorry for so many post, just he is being a pain to let me touch his car (which will be mine in exactly 5 months 19 days)

You can tell your dad that with those strips, the dings will still be there if it ever gets taken off. So when they fade and you need to take them off, there won't be no suprises and the paint won't be less faded underneath.

For the fuel door a black one I think would look good.

Tell him the ding strips don't do any good anyway....The area below the "hockey stick" on the door protrudes wider than the ding strips anyway, so that is where you'll get hit, not above......

I say, just keep it now, keep him happy, and when it's yours take them off and consider it your first mod.

 

what is wrong with you? Its not your car. Sure it'll be yours in 5 months, but its not yours now. Seriously, who do you think you are? when daddy finally gives you your car then you can do whatever you want to it.

 

I think it would look kinda funny with a black gas cap the only time I think a new gas cap looks good is on a black car with a chrome cap to match some chrome wheels other then that I'm not a fan, I say leave it as is, but those "rental" strips have to go, hope they arn't hard to take off.
