two of my friends have the CAI, and one added the tune. the one who just purchased the CAI, didn't see any change in power. the one who added the CAI and tune, saw a change in power in his opinion. these cars were not stangs tho, and this is my only real life experience with them.

Just go with a reputable tuner like VMP or Bama ..

As soon as I get my car a C&L Racer Intake and VMP Dyno tune will be on order.

I have a C&L CAI and brenspeed tune and it is definitely worth the money I have not put it on a dyno but you can definitely tell these some more power! As for cons go with brenspeed and any problems you have they can solve if you call them EXCELENT service, speaking from personal experience.

I guess Im the only one that still argues that a CAI and tune doesnt give you better fuel economy, buts that me. *smile*

IMO, the only downside of a tune would be is that a dealer cpu updatewould beyour biggest enemy. Other than that, its all good.

The only con to a tune is that you will need to buy new tires sooner! When I installed mine it was like buying a new car. Plus it took me 10 minutes to revert back to stock for my dealer visit.

pros:
no/significantly lowered throttle lag
more hp
cool intake sound
cons:
cost
potentially voidedwarranty
possible ecu/starting issues

imo, the pros far outwiegh the cons; however, one must be sure to do things right to avoid problems, i.e. get a tune from a reputable seller, don't buy used tuners (more trouble than it's worth) and write down your engine codes to avoid a dealer reflash dilemma
