Default Test Drove Vert

Test drove a Grabber Orange (2007 GT, 8000 Miles)vert today and I have a few questions.

1) Drove great but, between 2000 and 3500RPM there seems to be some vibration in the floor of the car. This could be normal considering the duel exhaust and the V8.

2) Also the brakes seem hard, stopped good but seemed to have to push harder then what I am use to.

3) Drove nice a tight unless I hit a sewer grate or bump, still tight but I noticed some body shudder. Is this normal, first time in a vert.

I know I seem pickey,I was driving my wife nuts and also the salesman. Just want to be happy with the purchase.

Thanks in Advance, Mike

Vibration? Uhh, the ride isn't smooth like a Beemer or Caddy, so I never really put much thought into it. EVERY bump in the road is transmitted, so I guess I've gotten used to the vibration.

Brakes are always different car to car. What were you coming out of? My vert is WAY grabbier on the brakes than my winter car is..

Body shudder? Of course. It's a vert! There's no roof, so they had to make the body stiffer. I try to avoid sewer grates, speedbumps, dips in the road, and any other type of uneven surface. Avoid them like the plague.

If you're that concerned over the ride quality on just a test drive, a vert may not be for you. It's a FUN car, but it rides like hell.

shake rattle and roll baby. My brakes seem normal to me. You will get a little shudder over bumps. You will also notice slight vibration you can see this by watching the antena. This is a topless muscle car. I have not had any issues with the top or the rest of the car. To me it is like riding a harley on four wheels. What i mean by that you can let down the top and have the saftey of 4 wheels and have just as much fun.

Go and test drive a new one. If everything feels the same to you than it's normal. I'd say that's the way to find out is there is a problem.

Verts will give more then coupes will. casue of the top. The breaks well thats differnt, I notice the V6 brakes are stiff then the Gt's brakes.. Every time I drive the GT and go to the v6 I tend to break to hard the first couple times..

Thanks for the replys. Thetruck I drive for work is a 2500HD GMC Sierra, 2003. As this vehicle has hydrolic brakes this may be the reason for the brake difference. As for the shudder, yea I think I am being a little picky. As for the harley on four wheels, this is whatI am looking for, as I will be selling my V-Rod for the GT.

Thanks again for the advice.

The shake you are feeling is called "Cowl Shudder" and if you want to REALLY feel it, drive a New Edge or Fox Body.. My 05 with 30 k miles shakes less than my in law's 04 with 10k miles on it.

Get it, and you won't regret it.
