Brake pads
Getting new pads and wonder if there are those who have had better luck with one compared to the other with these. I had Hawk HPS and they worked well but it still shoots alot of dust, is there a better pad that doesn't shoot as much dust? Do you recommend one of these over the other?

The stocks are great for low dust imo.
HPS were terrible, but expected for dusting.
If dust is your major concern, try the hawk ceramics.
Side note, OE pads are ceramic from what I have been told.

I haven't had my car too long, but from my experience the stock pads do seem to put off very little dust. Every time I have priced Ford OEM pads they are more than performance pads elsewhere though ($100+ for the front pads on my 98 Explorer). I always end up buying something else instead.

The EBC Green Stuffs are semi-low dust; we put them on my dad's F150 about 2 years back. They ARE lower in dust, but for the first month and a half, they squeaked & squealed like a **** every time the brakes were applied. We put some of the anti-squeal compound on them the first time we did it, and it STILL squealed; turned out that there was a "conditioner" coating on the pad that had to wear down first before the squealing stopped.
I also noticed after putting the pads on that they were less "grippy" than stock, and my stopping distance was increased, not to mention the "gross green" color of the pads thatwas highly visible behind my wheels.

I haven't noticed too much dust from stock or the Hawk HPS pads, but I wash the car weekly. The original brake pads started to feel like they were fading a lot. The HPS' were worth every penny. The local auto parts store refused to turn the rotors (23,000 miles) because he said they were too thin. I sanded them well with 120 grit and then washed with soap and water. Put on the new pads, broke them in according to Hawk instructions, and haven't heard a peep (or squeak) in 2,000 miles.
From what I've read, dust is good. That's why you see BMW's with black front wheels. They have brakes that work.
Just wash your damn car once in a while if you hate black front wheels.
I hate dirty Mustangs (unless they've been on a track)! [:'(]

My Hawk HPS pads are super dusty and they're squealing really bad now. I'm taking them off and going with EBC Red Stuff. I have EBC Green Stuff on my wife's Stratus R/T with EBC rotors and they're great with little dust. We'll see how the red ones do.
