Default Fender Emblems

Not sure if this is a new option or not, but I go to the University of South Carolina, and quite a few students are starting to get s197's here. The thing is that around 70% of them seem to have no fender badges. They range from full customs with a full SS bodykit, to just the run of the mill V6's, with no mods at all. I can see the custom guys doing it, but a lot of the cars I see have female drivers, without even the exhaust done, leading me to believe they wouldn't drop the change to shave emblems only on the fenders.

Can anyone fill me in?

are they being pulled off by kids? Or are the holes filled?

JUst put a USC emblem on!
make sure it's the correct USC, not the University of Spoiled Children!
Go UCLA!
