Default 18-20" rims

Whats the big difference between the quality of a ride between these two size rims. I have heard that 20's make the ride rough. Since this car is my DD any other time than the winter the ride quality is important. Not too sure if it is true but since I will be in the market for rims after winter I want to look a little closer into what I am getting.

its not like riding on wagon wheels or anything, there is plenty of tire. they ride alright, but i also have the FRPP handling pack so it rides rougher anyway.

I have 20s and FRPP lowering springs, and the ride is plenty tolerable.

I guess what it boils down to is that I didn't buy a friggin Cadillac.

Every Mustang I've owned has had a rougher ride. It just doesn't bother me, I guess.

I have 20's and the ride seems BETTER than stock. No kidding. Granted I didn't have my 18's for long (about 2 days). There will be a BIG difference in suspension performance though due to the firmer/shorter sidewalls (you'll go to a 35 series as opposed to 40/50/55 with the larger rim diam.).

Only problem with larger rims is the larger WEIGHT! If your main concern is performance/handling over looks, stay with an 18' rim. They are much lighter.

20's look really good but I wish I would have stayed with some nice 18x9.5's (or staggered 18x9/18x10's) all round.

I didn't really notice much change in ride quality when I installed the wheels, but noticed a big difference when I intalled the springs. Rides like a covered wagon, but thats what you get when you lower a vehicle, that fender gap is there for a reason. Go with whatever wheels you like, if ride quality is that important don't lower it.
