Sandbags... How many?
This is my first winter w/ the Mustang. I'm aware there are tons of threads already on this subject but noone has answered the question "How many sand bags should you put in your trunk?". I know this is an old school trick that probably only helps a little. I went to Home Depot and got 6 bags (300 pounds total). I put 3 bags on each side (150 pounds on each side. obviously) in the front of the trunk. Is this too much weight... bad for the suspension? Should I take out a bag on each side? Also, should I move them further into the trunk, or are they ok where they are?

you should be fine with that settup I used to use slightly less weight in my old fox back in ohio but the S197 is a bit heavier... you got snow tires to help that extra weight grip? that would be my only suggestion
No one had sand the day before our first snow so i just put 150lbs of cat litter in the trunk... it worked fine for about 2 inches of snow. i was going for more weight but my husband thought that would be plenty... guess im getting more for when the snow is worse
