Before I go crazy...
Ok I KNOW that this has been brought up in the past... (why else would have I have the urge or half-way knowhow on what to do..)
But I don't know which wire I need to splice in my wire bundle near the kick panel on the passenger side to install the trunk release switch.
I've been told it's white with a pink line and I've been told it's white and I've been told it's pink, so I found one that looked like that, and that only controlled the High beams staying on. Can someone SNAPSHOT or TAKE A PICTURE the actual line or send me an alternate and less intensive way to splice this line in to finally work? I'm going nuts here and google yields nothing friendly.

Any help is more than appreciated.

I ask for nothing odd! ^_^ Just a million dollars and a mansion on the mood.
And I don't wanna keep flipping for the trunk button on the FOB. I have a paranoia that I'm gonna be dead on battery with the FOB and I'm gonna desperately going to need a trunk release some time in the future.

What is that other wire, or which one is it?
Do what I did, find the white wire w/ the pink stripe. Use a straight pin and a clip lead (wire w/ alligator clips on both ends) push the straight pin through the insulation and ground the alligator clip. The trunk should pop; there's only ONE white wire with a pink stripe, i spent fifteen minutes sorting through the wires... there's only one.
good luck
good luck
Sorry Noober, I took that picture and I can't get my camera to focus that close to the wires. I guess I'm going to need a macro lens.
I had the same problem finding the wires. I ultimately gave up and went to the trunk, popped off the plastic cover over the lock assembly and took a look at the wires. I think Ford changed the color of the wires at some point during production.
To verify I had the right wire, I used a pin with an aligator clip just like McGyvertech recommended.
By the way, the choice of button makes a big difference also. Initially, I uised a Radioshack momentary contact shwitch. This type of switch makes contact as soon as the button is pressed. The problem with this is that the lightest tap on the glove compartment door would open the trunk. I played with rubber stoppers to stiffen the door but if you pushed hard enough on the corner of the glove compartment, the trunk woul pop open.
Eventually I bought a glove compartment switch from an older mustang. This works much better because the switch does not make contact until it is at the very end of its travel. Now, there is no way to accidntally open the trunk.
